Stars Olowora nabs NAIA women s cross country athlete of yearPublished by
NEW ORLEANS Oklahoma City University's Aminat Olowora collected national athlete of the year for the 2017 NAIA women's cross country season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Olowora, a senior from Lagos, Nigeria, won back-to-back NAIA individual titles after taking first place with a time of 16 minutes, 50 seconds in the 5,000-meter race on Nov. 18. The year prior, Olowora broke the NAIA women's championships record by 17 seconds, running a time of 16:24.28. She ended her cross country career at OCU with 10 wins in 10 career races.
